The excitement of seeing that new bird species. I never get tired of that.
In fact I feel it almost every day. Each sighting brings new details, new behaviour, new thrills. I’ve been birding seriously for over 12 years and I’ve packed a lot into those years. Constant reading, doing research in the field, making conservation my full time job.
I’ve assisted in local research projects – Black-eared miner, Orange-bellied parrot and other conservation projects in the Grampians, Otway National Park, Nova Scotia Canada and over seven years as a volunteer wildlife rescuer and educator.
My interests expand beyond the ornithological, with extensive knowledge in local Australian wildlife and history, making your birding experience in the Melbourne area extra special.
